Cosmo Pharmaceuticals S.p.A. IPO over-allotment option fully exercised

Lainate, Italy – 15 March 2007 – (SWX: COPN) Cosmo Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharma company that aims to become a global leader in optimised therapies for certain gastro intestinal (GI) diseases, today announced that Joint Global Co-ordinators and Joint Bookrunners Bank Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. (Switzerland) Ltd. and Lehman Brothers International (Europe), have fully exercised the over-allotment option (Greenshoe) to subscribe additional 348,900 shares at the offer price. The first trading day for the additional shares on the main board of the SWX Swiss Exchange is expected to be on 19 March 2007.

Based on yesterday’s closing price of CHF 22.50 market capitalization of Cosmo, with the over-allotment option being exercised, will total CHF 312.2 million. Cosmo Pharmaceuticals S.p.A. started trading on the SWX Swiss Exchange on 12 March 2007.

Mauro Ajani, CEO of Cosmo Pharmaceuticals said: “We are delighted to see that Cosmo Pharmaceuticals S.p.A. has received such an enthusiastic reception by the stock market with a share price increase of nearly 15% in three days despite the prevailing adverse market conditions. We are thus pleased that the Joint Global Coordinators and Joint Bookrunners are exercising the full Greenshoe only a few days after launch on the SWX Swiss Exchange”.
